The Langley peak is about 920 m high mountain on the Davis Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 3 miles east of Curtiss Bay from the western end of the Wright Piedmont Glacier .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1955 to 1957 were used to map it. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the American astrophysicist and aviation pioneer Samuel Pierpont Langley (1834–1906), who opened the Aërodrome No. 5 had developed one of the first airworthy aircraft models with a motor drive.
