The Irving Langmuir Award is an award in physical chemistry and chemical physics awarded annually alternately by the American Chemical Society (even years) and the American Physical Society (odd years) . It is named after Irving Langmuir . The laureate should have made outstanding contributions in this area over the past ten years. He should be based in the United States.
