Lara McDonnell

Lara McDonnell (born November 7, 2003 in Dublin ) is an Irish actress . She became known with the film Artemis Fowl , which was released in 2020 by the streaming service Disney + .

Career

At the age of seven, she took an acting class at a community center near her school, Saint Brigid's National School in Dublin 's Castleknock neighborhood . One of her teachers saw her talent and encouraged Lara's parents to sign her up for an audition. As an 11-year-old she then stood on a stage in London's West End as Matilda in the musical of the same name .

Shortly thereafter, she got a role in Love, Rosie - Forever Maybe . She played the main character Rosie when she was younger. This was followed by roles in the British television film To Walk Invisible: The Brontë Sisters and in the Irish film The Delinquent Season.

In 2020, the film Artemis Fowl was released on Disney + . Lara McDonell plays one of the main roles in it - that of the elf Captain Holly Short.
