Lara Roxx (born December 12, 1982 in Montreal ) is a former Canadian porn actress . She is also known by the name Lara Cox , not to be confused with the Australian actress of that name .

Life

At first she worked as a stripper in various clubs in Montreal, later also for Canadian websites. She made her debut as a porn actress on January 10, 2004 in a series by the Canadian Bruno B. She was discovered by the agent Daniel Perreault from Eromodels. Rejecting the porn business itself, she nonetheless moved to the San Fernando Valley - the center of the American porn film industry - with the aim of earning $ 30,000 for starting an agency.

On March 24, 2004, while filming the film Split that Booty 2 , she became infected with the HI virus in a particularly risky double-anal scene with Darren James , who had brought the virus with him from Brazil, and Mark Anthony . At the time, Lara Roxx trusted the precautionary measures of the US industry, which were considered to be safe, which at least led to the fact that no actor in the USA was infected with HIV for four years. After the case became known in the meantime, the film was released without this scene .

After it became known on April 10, 2004 that Darren James had tested HIV positive and Lara Roxx was diagnosed as HIV positive on April 15, all production in the San Fernando Valley was shut down for a month to clear up any subsequent infections. (Some producers disobeyed the ban after a few days.) A California court fined the production company $ 30,000 for failing to adequately protect its employees in the workplace.

Her plan for the future was to set up a foundation for young HIV-positive and failed people and to study film studies. In 2005, British television broadcast a report on her fate entitled Porn Shutdown . In 2011, the documentary Inside Lara Roxx was made under the direction of Canadian Mia Donovan .
