Larissa Dmitrijewna Iltschenko ( Russian Лариса Дмитриевна Ильченко ; born  November 18, 1988 in Volgograd ) is a Russian long-distance swimmer . With eight titles in open water world championships , she is the most successful female participant of all time and after Thomas Lurz the second most successful participant in open water world championships. She won her first title at the Open Water World Championships at the remarkable age of 16 on November 27, 2004 in Dubai over 5 kilometers. Like Thomas Lurz, she specializes in distances over 5 and 10 kilometers. 2008 won Iltschenko at the Olympic Games in Beijing the gold medal in the 10 km .

Larissa Iltschenko became an open water swimmer in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
