Lars David Kellner (born September 11, 1973 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German pianist and doctor.

Career

He received his musical training first from Erich Appel (Meistersinger Conservatory Nuremberg), later from Karl-Hermann Mrongovius ( University of Music and Theater Munich ). Kellner is a qualified concert pianist and music teacher .

Kellner has published piano music . His repertoire as an instrumental soloist includes mainly Slavic composers from the Romantic era and the early 20th century (Janáček, Chopin, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev). Kellner has also described a species of snail that is new to science and named it in honor of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

In 2011 he played the "Gnomus" from Mussorgski's Pictures at an Exhibition in its original version as a world premiere.

In 2013 Kellner recorded all of Leoš Janáček's piano works in their original version on CD. Here the pianist also presented the recording of all "Folk Dances in Moravia" on a sound carrier for the first time. Kellner premiered some of Janáček's miniatures, among others in the context of recital in the Gasteig Munich ( Kleinseitenpalais etc.).

In 2015, Sikorski Musikverlage published Rachmaninoff's 14 “songs without an opus number” with Kellner's rhymed German lyrics that are adaptations of Russian poems.

Several times concerted waiters on historical or famous concert grand pianos such as the Steinway No. 28054 or the 'Horowitz-Wing' (Steinway No. 314503). In recent years he has also appeared artistically with recitals on the harmonium . The musician also makes many pieces available to his audience via online video in the form of live recordings. Kellner is also involved in benefit concerts.
