Lars Holtkamp

Lars Holtkamp (* 1969 ) is a German political and administrative scientist . He is a professor at the Fernuniversität in Hagen .

Studies and academic career

Holtkamp studied social sciences at the Ruhr University Bochum from 1990 to 1996 and received a graduate scholarship from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1997 to 1999. In 1999 he received his doctorate in social sciences at the Ruhr University Bochum with a dissertation on municipal budget policy , for which he received the Carl Goerdeler Prize of the Carl Goerdeler Foundation and the Wilhelm Hollenberg Prize of the Society of Friends of the Ruhr in 2001 -University of Bochum.

From 1999 to 2000 he was a research assistant at the Ruhr University in the 1999 municipal elections project in North Rhine-Westphalia and in 1999 at the Hagen Open University.

In 2007 Holtkamp received the Venia Legendi for Political Science and Public Administration. From 2008 he was a substitute professor for politics and administration at the University of Hagen. In 2010 he was appointed Professor of Politics and Administration there.

His work and research focuses on budget policy, administrative modernization , democratic reforms , parties and local political research.

Political commitment

Lars Holtkamp was a member of the Green Council in Waltrop from 1989 to 2014 . As essential local political goals he indicated the expansion of citizen participation according to the model of the citizen commune , a gradual consolidation of the Waltrop budget without social cuts and the limitation of party politicization of local politics.
