Lars Leiro
Lars Leiro (born April 13, 1914 in Haus , Hordaland ; † March 22, 2005 ) was a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp) and landowner.
Political career
Leiro sat in Voss' local parliament between 1947 and 1960 . From 1956 to 1958 he was the mayor of the municipality. Between 1958 and 1969 he represented the province of Hordaland in Storting , the Norwegian parliament. In the years 1961 to 1969 he was a member of the parliamentary committee of the Sp, from 1965 as group chairman. From 1961 to 1969 he was also vice chairman of his party. In the Lyng government , he was Minister of Transport from August to September 1963 .
In 1966 he was appointed Fylkesmann for Bergen and Hordaland. Lars Leiro, who was the commander of the Saint Olav Order , retired in 1984.
