Lars Myrberg

Lars Mikael Myrberg (born November 23, 1964 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish light welterweight boxer and bronze medalist at the 1988 Olympic Games.

Boxing career

At the European Championships in Turin in 1987 , he only lost in the quarterfinals against Vasily Schischow from the Soviet Union and thus reached fifth place in the welterweight division. He then started in the light welterweight division at the 24th Olympic Games in Seoul . He defeated Handhal Mohamed Al-Harithy from Oman by knockout in the first round, Ahmad Mayez Khanji from Syria 4-1 on points, Canadian runner-up Howard Grant 4-1 and Humberto Rodríguez from Mexico by knockout the first round. Only in the semifinals did he lose 5-0 to the Australian Grahame Cheney .

On January 12, 1996, he played his first and only professional fight in Copenhagen , which he won by tKo in the third round.
