Lars Schmitz-Eggen (born June 25, 1965 in Aachen ) is a German author and journalist. Schmitz-Eggen has been editor-in-chief of Rettungs-Magazin and www.rettungsdienst.de since April 2004 .

Life

Schmitz-Eggen received training as a paramedic and has been involved in psychosocial emergency care (PSNV) since 2005. After completing his internship and studies (degree: Lic. Rer. Publ., Licentiate ) at the Free University of Berlin, he worked as a local editor, where he worked for the "Bergische Landeszeitung / Kölnische Rundschau" among others. In 1994 he moved to the fire department magazine (Bremen). In 1996 he built up the rescue magazine , of which he has been editor-in-chief since 2004.

He has special knowledge both in the field of rescue services and maritime topics. Since 2001 he has published six non-fiction books on topics from the history of shipping, including “The Last Voyage of Munich” (2001) and “Verschollen im Packeis” (2007).

He lives in Osterholz-Scharmbeck and works in Bremen .
