Lasar Dobrich
Lazar Ivanov Dobrich ( Bulgarian Лазар Иванов Добрич ; born June 23, 1881 in Rawno Pole , today to Elin Pelin ; † February 18, 1970 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian artist and teacher . He was one of the most famous Bulgarian circus performers and had a great influence on the development of the Bulgarian circus .
Life
Dobritsch became known for his feat called Trapeze of Death, which was first performed in the Berlin Schumann Circus in 1905 . Together with his brother Alexander Dobrich and K. Michailow, he founded the Royal Dobrich Circus , which existed from 1933 to 1948. Later he was director of the Rodina Circus and then from 1956 to 1961 Director General of the Bulgarian Circus Directorate .
Dobrich also ran acrobatics and gymnastics schools .
In 1955 he received the international award as Senior of the Circus Arts . He was also the winner of the Dimitrov Prize .
