The Laschinger Seafood GmbH , based in Deggendorf claims to be the world leader in the processing of smoked salmon .

history

In 1979, the namesake of the company Rudolf Laschinger founded a trout farm with a smokehouse in Birkenthal , which was renamed Laschinger GmbH in 1985. In 1991 the subsidiary Laschinger Holding AS was established in Bergen (Norway) for salmon farming . At the same time, Laschinger acquired 50% of the Erzgebirge fish smokehouse ( Annaberg-Buchholz ). In 1994 and 1998 several salmon farms on the Shetland Islands were bought. In 1999 the production facilities at the founding site of Bischofsmais were modernized and expanded. After several changes of name and the merger in 2007 with the Polish Morpol SA, in which Morpol acquired all shares in Laschinger, Laschinger GmbH was renamed Laschinger Seafood GmbH in 2010. In 2012 the company moved to Deggendorf . In 2013 the parent company Morpol including Laschinger was taken over by the Norwegian Marine Harvest ASA.

The Laschinger / Morpol Group, which also appears as the Laschinger Aqua Group, is represented at the following locations:

  • Deggendorf (company headquarters)
  • Ustka (production site where around 2,500 employees smoked 60,000 tons of salmon per year)
  • Lębork (salmon smokehouse with 500 employees, annual production approx. 7,000 tons) and
  • Harsum (processing of fresh fish).

range

Laschinger Seafood mainly sells salmon, including smoked and marinated salmon. Smoked salmon trout and mackerel fillets as well as frozen products are sold. Customers include large retail chains, private households, cruise ships and airline catering companies.

Awards

Laschinger Seafood has received several DLG awards in gold, silver and bronze. In 2014 she received the DLG award for long-term product quality.
