Lasiosomus enervis is a bug from the family of Geocoridae .

features

The bugs are 3.6 to 4.2 millimeters long. They are very similar to Stygnocoris sabulosus , which is similarly colored and also pale hairy. Lasiosomus enervis can be distinguished in that the anterior half of the pronotum is unpunctured and the two rows of points on the corium of the hemielytras have larger spaces between the points. The adults are fully winged (macropter).

distribution and habitat

The species is distributed from the northern Mediterranean area to the south of Scandinavia and across southeast Europe to the Caucasus. It is only locally distributed in Germany in the northern lowlands and occurs in the low mountain range, but not often and never in a large number of individuals. In Austria, it is particularly common in the Alps, but it is also rare. It is also rarely and sporadically in Great Britain. Humid to dry, open to partially shaded areas are settled, but limestone soils are preferred, often on the edges or clearings of beech forests.

Way of life

The way of life of the animals has not been adequately researched. They live on the ground in the litter or herb layer and probably suckle polyphagous on seeds. Mating takes place in May and June. Adults are found all year round; they hibernate.
