Lasse Gjertsen (born July 19, 1984 in Larvik ) is a Norwegian animator and musician who became known on YouTube as "lassegg". His best-known short films are Hyperactive , which has been viewed over 8 million times, and Amateur, with over 16 million views.

biography

Gjertsen studied animation at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in England. He left the Kent Institute when his work was rated "poor" by the professors. He then continued his studies in Volda in Norway.

With the exception of the music of Home Sweet Home by the Norwegian rapper Sirius and Sogno ad Occhi Aperti (2007) by the Italian cellist Giovanni Sollima , Gjertsen composes the music for his videos himself and also sings to them, although he claims to have no great musical education have. Sogno ad Occhi Aperti was presented at the eighth “International Fringe Film Festival” in Marzamemi . In the same year he worked as the director of the music video Get Fizzy by the Swedish rapper "Timbuktu". He has now produced an album of electronic music.

Its success on YouTube led to offers from well-known international companies such as Chevrolet and MTV .

Lasse posted the original from Hyperactive on YouTube after noticing that a poor copy of the short film had been uploaded there. In the following six months, he published 16 more videos that were made during his studies. In May 2007, his video channel was among the 31 most subscribed to on YouTube. Hyperactive (the most popular), What The Fuck? , Amateur and Sogno ad Occhi Aperti made it onto the YouTube homepage. Amateur was featured in an article in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal .
