The Latécoère 570 was a French medium-weight bomber aircraft from 1939. Only a prototype was completed for demonstration purposes.

history

The Latécoère 570 was created as a response of the French aircraft construction company Latécoère to the Armée de l'air specification B4 (bomber with four-man crew) from 1935. The construction was in competition with the types Lioré & Olivier LeO 45 , Amiot 341 and Romano R-120 .

The prototype was equipped with two 1125 HP Hispano-Suiza 14Aa -08 engines and flew for the first time in August 1939. The aircraft reached a top speed of 560 km / h (at 5000 m altitude) and was thus over 50 km / h faster than the competitor type LeO 451 (although probably without armament, no information is available on this). Since the latter had already started its maiden flight two years earlier and production had already started, it was given preference over the Latécoère 570.

construction

The Latécoère 570 was a twin-engined mid - decker with a double vertical tail and a glazed bow. The undercarriage could be pulled into the motor gondolas. The drive was provided by two 1125 HP radial engines Hispano-Suiza 14Aa-08 .
