The Cross of Honor Latronibus Fugatis Securitas Restituta is an award of the Papal States from the year 1816th

history

Founder was Pope Pius VII in 1816. This award was intended as a reward for officers , NCOs and soldiers who had excelled in “driving the robber rabble from the papal territory”.

Order decoration

The decoration of the order was made of gilded silver, enamelled in white and was engraved with the foundation reason Latronibus fugatis securitas restituta - "Security restored by expelling the robbers".

The decoration was also available in bronze for lesser merits.

The ribbon was evenly white-yellow-white. The award was worn on the left side of the chest.
