Arcade (Krumbach)
The Laubgang is a walk in the forest east of Krumbach near the Krumbad .
location
The arcade is located in the forest called Königsgehau on the Riedel between the valleys of Kammel and Haselbach east of Krumbach, north of the Krumbad. The approximately one kilometer long path begins in the west at the edge of the forest near Attenhauser Straße and ends in the east on a forest path , the so-called line , that runs from south to north .
history
The canopy was created as a result of the original survey of Bavaria around 1840. In order to be able to carry out the survey, it was necessary to create an aisle through the forest in a west-east direction. After the end of the surveying work, an avenue of red beech , hornbeam and oak was planted in this aisle . The fact that the trees along the canopy, in contrast to all other forests around Krumbach, were never used for forestry purposes, is probably due to the fact that the trees were planted by the citizens of Krumbach and Hürben . In addition, this forest area was the community forest of the independent municipality of Hürben until 1902 and is still part of the urban forests of the city of Krumbach to this day.
In 2008 the avenue was extended at both ends to Attenhauser Strasse and the line . In addition, the abandoned avenue trees in the old part were replaced. In this renovation of the canopy, which was carried out by the local history association Krumbach, together with the Bund Naturschutz, the State Forestry Office and the city of Krumbach, sponsors associated with Krumbach took on the sponsorship of the newly planted trees.
Nearby
At the western end of the foliage there is a late La Tène Celtic square hill on a spur-like ridge that slopes steeply down to the valley . The wall of the square complex with a side length of around 40 meters is still clearly visible.
