Maurice Mathieu (badminton)

Maurice Mathieu ( June 10, 1928 - May 15, 2018 ) was a French badminton player . He was one of the most important athletes in the sport in France in the 1950s .

Career

Maurice Mathieu won his first French title in men's doubles with Michel Le Renard in the 1950/1951 season . In 1954, 1955, 1957 and 1959 he won this discipline together with Henri Pellizza . In 1961 he won his first and only mixed title with Jeanie Boivin Mathieu . At the French Open 1958 Mathieu was third in mixed with Pratuang Pattabongse .
