Karl-Ernst Vaillant

Karl-Ernst Vaillant (born June 10, 1935 ) was managing director of Vaillant from 1966 to 1997 .

The active Catholic was sent to the boarding school of the Aloisius College in Bad Godesberg in 1951 . He studied chemical engineering and process engineering in Munich and Karlsruhe. In the early 1960s he gained his first practical experience in Paris and Bristol . In 1965 he attended the European Institute for Business Management in Fontainebleau to complete his training , where he obtained his MBA .

In 1966, alongside his uncle, he became managing director for the technical area. By the time he left active business life in 1997, the heating technology group's sales increased thirty-fold. The Remscheid family then installed an external management system.

He received the Bavarian Order of Merit , the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and in 1994 the honorary senator of the University of Karlsruhe . He was President of the Federal Association of Companies in the Gas and Water Sector e. V. ( figawa ), member of the board of directors of the German Association for Gas and Water. V. (DVGW) and honorary chairman of the employers' association. In July 2003 he took over the office of chairman of the Society of Friends of the Bergische Universität (GFBU) until 2006 .
