Run boy Run
Run, boy, run is the title of an adaptation of an authentic life experience as a youth novel by Uri Orlev , based on the reports by Yoram Fridman. The novel was translated from Hebrew into German by Mirjam Pressler and was first published in German by Beltz & Gelberg in 2004 .

The young Jurek, who was once called Srulik, a Jew, manages to escape from the Warsaw ghetto during the Second World War . From now on he has to fight his way through to the end of the war. Again and again he joins other people and yet has to flee again. In doing so, he has surprising, intense experiences. There is danger not only from German soldiers, but also from Polish compatriots. Some people help him, others don't. He can survive until the end of the war, but loses his right arm. He finds his identity with the help of a carer from the Jewish children's home, to which he is forcibly committed. As an adult he emigrates to Israel, where he meets one of his sisters again and marries a beautiful woman.

filming
The director Pepe Danquart filmed the book as a German-Polish-French co-production under the title Lauf Junge Run . The first performance for Central Germany was on April 1, 2014 in Halle (Saale) .
