Starfish career badge

The starfish career badge is worn by officers and officer candidates of the troop service and the military technical service of the German Navy . It is on both sleeves in middle sleeve 3 cm above the cuff title on shoulder straps supported between strip and button. It is a component of the uniform and the rank badge of the Navy.

The five-pointed star (starfish) has a diameter of 2.5 cm. On the service jacket (dark blue), the jacket / tuxedo of the formal suit and the overcoat (dark blue) it consists of gold-colored metal web, is hand-embroidered and on a dark blue basic cloth. On the shirt (dark blue) it consists of golden yellow textile fabric, is machine embroidered and on a dark blue basic cloth. On the white shirt it is made of blue woven textile, machine-embroidered and on white cotton fabric and on all dark blue epaulets it is gold-colored, embossed with metal or made of woven metal and hand-embroidered.

Medical officers and medical officer candidates wear the doctor , dentist or pharmacist running badges instead of the starfish , officers of the military music service wear the military music service badge, and geographic information service officers wear the geographic information service badge. NCOs and crews of the Navy wear badges according to their assignment.

The commander's special badge also contains a five-pointed star (starfish).
