Laura Daners

Laura Daners (born February 1, 1967 - September 17, 2010 ) was a Uruguayan synchronized swimmer, journalist and TV presenter.

Daners was initially a very successful synchronized swimmer and took part with Uruguay in the Pan American Games in Indianapolis in 1987 . She began her journalistic career at Canal 5 . She then became known to the general public as the presenter of Telemundo , the main news program on Canal 12 , alongside Néber Araújo . Daners suffered from multiple sclerosis , which ultimately led to death. The mother of two children was buried in the Buceo cemetery.
