Uruguay took part in the X. Pan American Games in 1987 in Indianapolis , USA , with a delegation consisting of 56 athletes.
The Uruguayan athletes won a total of seven medals. The rower Jesús Posse and the cyclist Federico Moreira were the only two champions. In addition, Uruguay's team won two silver medals and three bronze medals.
