Luis Chiapparro

Luis Alfonso Chiapparro Moreno (born November 19, 1966 ) is a Uruguayan sailor .

Depending on the sources , Chiapparro, who is 1.67 meters or 1.80 meters tall, was named Chato and started sailing at the age of eight. In 1984 he was next to Horacio Carabelli's junior world champion in the Snipe class, with whom he also competed took part in the 1987 World Cup in La Rochelle and won the South American Championship in 1990. After Chiapparro had already represented his home country at the Pan American Games in 1987 , he was also part of the Uruguayan team for the Summer Olympics in 1988 and 1992 in Seoul and Barcelona . He started there in the Soling class. In 1988 in the boat with Héber Ansorena and Horacio Carabelli , he took 16th place in the competition, as well as four years later together with Ricardo Fabini Belhot and Nicolás Parodi . In 2007 he won in Granaway Deep national J / 24 championships of Bermuda ( Bermuda J / 24 National Championship ). Chiapparro, he also worked as the trainer of the Olympian Alejandro Foglia . The married Chiapparro has been working as a sailing instructor since 1989.
