Nelson Zamora

Nelson Zamora , full name Nelson Ernesto Zamora Villalba , (born April 5, 1959 ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

The 1.72 meter tall marathon runner Zamora was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1986 South American Games in Chile . In 1987 he took part with the Uruguayan team in the Pan American Games in Indianapolis and finished ninth with a running time of 2:36:23 hours. In 1991 he ran his personal best on the marathon course with a time of 2:18:54 hours. In the marathon he also started as a member of the Uruguayan Olympic team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona . In the final ranking, he finished 54th .
