Laura Giordano (singer)

Laura Giordano (born June 9, 1979 in Palermo , Italy ) is an Italian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Giordano began her vocal studies at the age of 16 and participated in several productions at the Teatro Massimo Palermo and the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. In 1997 and 1998 she won the OperaLaboratorio competition at the Teatro Massimo Palermo.

She made her debut in the leading role in Gaetano Donizetti's opera I pazzi per progetto and Gioachino Rossini's Adina . From 1998 to 1999 she took lessons from Maria Chiara and Alida Ferrarini . Since then she has been working as a guest singer, a. a. at the Milan Scala (2004), the Nice Opera (2004, 2005), the Semperoper, the Teatro Real in Madrid, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, etc. She also sang at the Salzburg Festival in May 2007 and also made guest appearances at the Rheingau Musik Festival .
