Lauren Faust
Lauren Faust (* 1974 ) is an American film animator .
life and career
Faust grew up in Severna Park , a suburb of Annapolis, Maryland . She is of German and Polish descent. She studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts . In addition to animation, she has worked as a storyboard artist, producer, screenwriter, voice actor, director, developer and character designer on various series and films.
Her husband is the animator Craig McCracken , who, among other things, invented the series Powerpuff Girls and Foster's House for fantasy friends, on which Faust also worked. She was a storyboard artist for Powerpuff Girls and chief writer for Foster's House for Imaginative Friends . The character Frankie Foster is loosely based on her.
With the development of the series My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic , based on her own interpretation of the Hasbro toy pony series My Little Pony , she gained further notoriety. The fact that this series, which was originally conceived for young girls, was able to gain a large following, especially among young adult men, makes them “proud” according to their own statement.
Until May 2011 she worked as an executive producer on the series (up to the episode Friendship Above Everything - Part 2 ). In the second season, she only performed an advisory role as a consulting producer. From season 3, Lauren Faust was no longer involved in the development of the series. Her next project is Super Best Friends Forever , a series of animated short films starring various DC female superheroes.
One of their long-term projects is Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls , a website for young girls with various toys available. She also has a deviantART account, which she uses to publish some of her drawings and answer questions from her fans.
