Karl Benedikt von Bremer

Karl Benedikt von Bremer (* 1724 in Stockholm ; † after 1787) was a Prussian colonel and chief of garrison regiment No. 8 .

Life

Bremer came from the Hanover nobility . He went into Prussian military service in 1756 after having previously served in the Hanover, Palatinate and Bavarian services. During the Seven Years' War he was a member of the free regiments Wunsch and Le Noble . During this time he was able to excel especially in the battle in Pasewalk . In 1761 he was awarded the Pour le Mérite as a major in the Wunsch Free Regiment . He was taken prisoner at Ebeleben in 1761 , and was so badly injured in the Battle of Landeshut that he was left among the dead. But he was saved and restored anyway. On January 11, 1758 he was in the regiment Le Noble Major and in November 1769 lieutenant colonel . On February 23, 1772 he became a colonel and took over the regiment. With the beginning of the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778, he retired and retired to the Sommerfeld estate. In 1787 he also received a salary from King Friedrich Wilhelm II .

He was married to a woman of common origin.
