Laurie R. King (* 1952 in Oakland ) is an American writer .

Life

King grew up in Santa Cruz and San Francisco . She studied both bachelor and master theology at the universities of Santa Cruz and Berkeley . Later she and her husband toured twenty countries on five continents. Her first book, The Beekeeper's Apprentice (dt. The Assistant of the beekeeper) was created in 1987 and was released in 1994. It marks the beginning of a series of pastiche thrillers with the main characters Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes .

King lives with her family in Watsonville, California .
