Laurie Records

Laurie Records was an American music label from New York City .

The label was founded in 1958 by the brothers Gene and Bob Schwartz together with Alan Sussell. In April 1958 the label released its first ever single: "I Wonder Why". The song was the breakthrough for Dion and the Belmonts . The label's most successful artists were Dion and the Belmonts ("A Teenager In Love") in the late 1950s and Dion ("The Wanderer", "Runaround Sue") in the early 1960s .

In the early 1980s, EMI (then EMI-Capitol) took over the company. His name changed to 3C Records . 3C stood for C ontinental C ommunications C orporation.
