Lavra is a small town and a former municipality in northern Portugal .

The former municipality Lavra belongs to the Matosinhos district in the Porto district , has an area of ​​10.3 km² and 10,000 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The place was elevated to Vila (German:  small town ) on July 1, 2003 .

In the course of the regional reform in Portugal on September 29, 2013 , the municipality was merged with those of Perafita and Santa Cruz do Bispo to form the new municipality of Perafita, Lavra e Santa Cruz do Bispo . Perafita became the seat of the new municipality, the municipal administrations in the dissolved municipalities remained in existence as citizens' offices.
