The parish church Mariae Himmelfahrt is a baroque hall building with a south tower. It is located within the defensive wall, attached to Albrechtsberg Castle in the northeast. First mentioned in a document in 1236, it became a feudal parish under the Lords of Neidegg around 1380. The tower of the originally Gothic church was renewed in 1715. According to plans by Matthäus Munggenast, a baroque renovation began in the middle of the 18th century and was completed in 1765/70. The high and smooth fronts of the exterior building with a basket arched choir , slightly recessed crypt exit on the east side and the south-facing sacristy are pierced by lunette windows. The south tower has an onion spire and sloping retaining walls . The nave is a three- bay hall with square vaults on pillars with pilasters and four-headed entablature . In the south there is a two-bay, late Gothic chapel with ribbed vaults on consoles . |

The towering, irregular complex dates largely from the second half of the 16th century. It is characterized by its guard and defense towers protruding from the high, crenellated circular wall with numerous key notches . It was first mentioned in a document in 1230. The three-storey, multi-wing complex has three courtyards, access from the south through a round arched portal with the designation 1675 in the gable field and a main gate in the northeast with a machicolation . In one courtyard there is a groin vaulted arcade on squat columns. Other special features include a smoke kitchen with a pyramid chimney, groin vaulted rooms, a wooden ceiling marked 1604 and a bulk box from the 18th century with a crooked roof . |

The parish church , consecrated to St. Pankratius , is a slightly elevated, baroque, medieval hall building with a western tower in the west of Els , the history of which goes back to the 13th century. The nave with arched windows and small roof hatches has a retracted choir with five-eighth end and retracted buttresses. The massive, square, late Gothic west tower is crowned by a stone pyramid roof. A roof turret from the 19th century stands above the choir. To the south of the choir is a two-storey, gable- independent sacristy extension vaulted on the inside with an oratory above . The interior of the nave has a grooved flat ceiling over Ionic pilasters with entablature and simple bandwork stucco from the Baroque era 1724–1726. In the north there is a chapel extension with a small, baroque hanging dome on pilasters . |
