Catholic parish church hl. Nikolaus ObjectID : 55891 |
KG location : Stratzing |
Surrounded by a stone wall, the parish church of St. Nicholas . Its basilic nave was created by the late Gothic extension of a late Romanesque hall building. The church has a Gothic choir and a late Romanesque / early Gothic choir tower. The nave is opened through baroque arched windows. The Romanesque slot openings in the west facade come from the Romanesque predecessor building. In the south there is a pointed arch portal with remains of polychrome plating. The retracted choir has a five-eighth end and is supported by simply stepped buttresses. A transverse rectangular tower tower from 1736, which is essentially early Gothic, rises above the first choir bay, with pilaster strips, clock gables and an onion helmet. Three medieval head sculptures are walled into the tower. To the north of the choir is a vestry, which is partly from the late Middle Ages. |
