Lawrence Adjei-Okyere (born March 23, 1979 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian soccer player .

Career

The midfielder began his professional career in 1997 with Ashanti Gold and moved to Asante Kotoko SC three years later . With this club he won the Ghanaian Cup in 2001 before moving to Spartak Moscow . After only one use, Adjei moved to the German second division Arminia Bielefeld , for whom he met once in five league games. In the 2002/03 season Adjei was active for Eintracht Trier before returning to his home country Ghana and joining the Accra Hearts of Oak club. With this club Adjei was twice champion and won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004 . After a short trip to the Chinese club Hohhot Black Horse , Adjei played for the Indian club Sporting Clube de Goa in 2008 before moving to the Sporting Club de Bangui from the Central African Republic , where he ended his career in 2010.

International

Between 2001 and 2005 Adjei played four times for the Ghanaian national team , in which he scored a goal.

Personal

His nephew Samuel Adjei played for the US U-15, U17 national team and the Ghanaian U-20 national team, and has been under contract with Hawke's Bay United since the beginning of 2018 .
