Lawrence Iquaibom

Lawrence Iquaibom (born February 5, 1965 ) is a Nigerian weightlifter , official and trainer.

Career

Lawrence Iquaibom is from the state of Akwa Ibom . After his active career, he became a trainer for the Akwa Ibom State Association, chairman of the sports committee of the Mkpat-Enin Local Government Area and technical director of the Nigerian Weightlifting Association.

He took part in the Olympic Games twice for Nigeria. 1984 in Los Angeles he finished 14th in featherweight with 21 participants, in 1988 in Seoul he was 12th in lightweight with 29 participants. At the Africa Games in Nairobi in 1987 , he won the gold medal in the category up to 60 kg body weight with a combination of 245.0 kg. At the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland , he received a silver medal for his lightweight combination of 290.0 kg and a silver medal for his 130.0 kg in snatch and a silver medal for his 160.0 kg in jerk.
