biography

Záhrobský first took part in FIS races in December 1995. In his almost 500 races in this category he has celebrated 20 victories so far. He contested the first race in the European Cup in February 2000. Mostly placed in the midfield, the Czech only reached his first podium in February 2008. In the 2008/09 season he won all five Super-Gs (the first at the same time as Florian Scheiber ) and thus clearly won the discipline ranking . In the 2009/10 season he won only one Super-G, but again achieved first place in the Super-G classification with another three top 5 placements. In the 2010/11 season , the downhill was his stronger discipline. He won the last downhill in Formigal and was second in the discipline classification.

In the Ski World Cup , Záhrobský drove his first race in October 2000, but only achieved World Cup points eight years later in the Super-G of Val Gardena on December 19, 2008 as 30th for the first time. During the next twelve months he was able to finish under the fastest 30 four times, with 21st place in the downhill from Val Gardena on December 19, 2009, his best World Cup result so far. At the same time, this 21st place was also his last win in the World Cup so far.

Záhrobský took part in the Olympic Games three times ( 2002 in Salt Lake City , 2006 in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver ). The best result here was a 24th place in the Super-G in Salt Lake City. He achieved similar results in his six world championships ( St. Anton 2001 , St. Moritz 2003 , Bormio 2005 , Åre 2007 , Val-d'Isère 2009 and Garmisch-Partenkirchen 2011 ). Here his best result is the 21st place in the combination of St. Moritz.
