Layzie Bone (born September 23, 1975 in Cleveland , Ohio ; actually Steven Vernell Howse ) is an American rapper and best known as a member of the group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony .

Career

Layzie Bone was best known as part of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony along with his brother Flesh-N-Bone . Unlike the other members of the group, Layzie Bone did not publish any solo albums after the commercial breakthrough in the mid-1990s, but founded the Mo Thugs , a group in which other rappers from Cleveland and the surrounding area participated in addition to the individual Bone Thugs members. The group's albums were released through the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony label , Mo Thugs Records . Layzie Bone headed the label as Chief Executive Officer .

It was only after several successful albums with the Bone Thugs and the Mo Thugs that Layzie Bone released his first solo album Thug By Nature in 2001 . He published this under the alternative stage name L-Burna. According to his own statement, he chose this one because he would "burn" his competitors with the release of his album. The work reached number 43 on the Billboard 200 .

Layzie Bone then devoted himself to his two groups again, until he founded the Bone Brothers together with Bizzy Bone in 2005 and recorded several albums as part of this duo in the following years. In addition, his second solo album It's Not a Game was released in 2005 . With rank 96 on the Billboard 200, there was a slight downward trend compared to its predecessor.

In 2006 he worked with Young Noble from the Outlawz and released the joint album Thug Brothers . The project continued for the next few years, but Krayzie Bone took over the bone thugs part from then on .

After that, numerous other albums appeared with Layzie Bones participation. However, chart successes in the mainstream failed to materialize.
