Le Creuset SAS is a French manufacturer of cooking utensils and claims to be the market leader in the cast iron cookware market. The company is managed in the form of a SAS and is based in Fresnoy-le-Grand . The German subsidiary, Le Creuset GmbH, is based in Kirchheim unter Teck in Baden-Württemberg . 1925: Founded by two Belgian industrialists, Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq, in Fresnoy-le-Grand in France; The Le Creuset roaster was born
1952: The first exports to other European countries took place.
1957: Le Creuset took over one of the biggest competitors, Les Hauts Fourneaux de Cousances , which had existed since 1554.
1970: Another competitor (Godin) was taken over.
1988: Paul van Zuydam bought Le Creuset and became the sole owner.
1992: Le Creuset acquired the Screwpull brand ( corkscrew ).
1994: Le Creuset GmbH in Germany was founded.

From 1995 many branches were founded all over the world: in Hong Kong (1998), Switzerland, South Africa, Brazil and Spain (1999), Scandinavia (2003), Italy and Canada (2004), and also a procurement office in China (2004 ). From 2010, branches were established in the Czech Republic (2010) and Austria (2011).
