Le Griffe (incorrect French 'Der Kralle ') was an English new wave of British heavy metal band from Stoke-on-Trent that was formed in 1980 and disbanded in 1984.

history

The band was formed in 1980 and consisted of singer and guitarist Chris Hatton, guitarists Paul Wood and Tim Blackwood, bassist Kevin Collier and drummer Martin Allen. This was followed by the first appearances and in 1981 a first live demo, which included songs such as Who's Kidding Who , Breathe Deeply and Sillent Running . This was Bullet Records attentive to the group what the beginning of 1983 the EP Fast bikes appeared, which included three songs. In the second half of the year, the band recorded the single You're Killing Me . The single was released the following year and contained two versions of the theme song, the song ETA. In the same year, the EP Breaking Strain was released . The band consisted of the singer and guitarist Chris Hatton, the guitarists Tim Blackwood and Amos Sanfillipo, the bassist Kevin Collier and drummer Martin Allen. After the release, guitarist Tim Blackwood left the band before the group broke up towards the end of the year.

style

The live demo is reminiscent of NWoBHM bands like Soldier , Black Ax and Seventh Son . The Metal Hammer categorized Breaking Strain as hard rock . The music is also comparable to the early Def Leppard with "a good shot of boogie ".
