Le Morne is a small village founded by slaves ("Village") in the south of Mauritius in the Black River district . Administratively it belongs to the Village Council Area (VCA) Le Morne. At the 2011 census, the place had 1,300 inhabitants. It is located on the Le Morne Brabant mountain on a shallow lagoon and offers a wide range of water sports.

In Le Morne, many people work in the salt pans that produce the famous sea ​​salt of Mauritius. This salt is known for its coarser shape.
