history
Origin of the company
Leadec has its origins in 1962 with the establishment of the boiler cleaning company Reichenberger & Co., cleaning heating and water boilers. In the 1960s, a new service was created: external maintenance of machines and systems, the name was changed to Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH, Reichenberger & Co., which was renamed Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH & Co. KG ( DIW ) from 1985 . In 1986 Salamander and Voith acquired DIW .
In October 2000, the Voith Industrial Services division was founded from this. In 2000 Voith Industrial Service acquired a stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik. In 2004 Voith Servicos Industriais do Brasil Ltda. founded. In 2005 the company acquired the American Premier Group in order to strengthen its international position as a partner to the automotive industry . In 2006, the majority of Hörmann Industrietechnik was acquired for complex technical industrial services with a focus on the automotive industry.
In August 2014, Helix Systems Inc., with 260 employees and a turnover of 30 million dollars, became part of Voith Industrial Services. In September 2014 Voith Industrial Services sold the subsidiary DIW.
In autumn 2016 Voith sold its industrial services division to the private equity company Triton . This divided the company into two service companies, Leadec and Veltec. Since then, Leadec has been one of Triton's portfolio companies. Under the new owner, Leadec is an independent service company that is to be fully geared to the requirements in the service sector and can act on a customer-specific basis. Veltec was sold to Plant Systems & Services PSS GmbH in November 2018 and focuses on the process industry.
New name
The new Leadec brand was announced on January 23, 2017. The company name is intended to emphasize the company's independence: Leadec is made up of the English words “lead” (advance, leadership) and “tec” (technology).
