The League of Legends champions Korea ( LCK ; Korean 리그 오브 레전드 챔피언스 코리아 ) is a South Korean e-sports -Profiliga in League of Legends (LoL). This is a game from the MOBA genre in which two teams - each consisting of five players - compete against each other. The league consists of ten teams that compete against each other in two seasons (season split: spring and summer). The best teams qualify for the League of Legends World Championships . The LCK is administered and controlled by the game developer Riot Games and the South Korean association KeSPA .
From 2012 to 2013, the competition was called League of Legends Champions before some changes came in late 2014. Until 2016, OGN had exclusive rights to the broadcasts. Then these were shared with SPOTV. In 2019, Riot Games took over the broadcast rights.
The LCK is generally considered to be the best league in the world, as teams from the LCK won five world championship titles between 2013 and 2017. The reigning champion of the LCK is the record world champion SK Telecom T1 , who will compete as T1 from 2020.
