In later documents the place is called "Lebenprun", "Lern prun", "Lebnprunn" and finally Lebenbrunn. The Rotte Rotleiten has been part of Lebenbrunn since 1870. In 1889 a major fire raged in the village. In 1971 the place was incorporated into the Pilgersdorf community as part of a parish merger.
