Lecanora carpinea is a rindenbewohnende lichen from the family of Lecanoraceae .
description
Lecanora carpinea is a crusty lichen, that is, its bed ( thallus ) lies close to the base. The camp is gray-white to white in color. The fruit bodies ( apothecia ) reach 0.5 to 1.5 mm in diameter. Their discs are light brownish and frosted with white. Their edge is the same color as the bearing. Since they are often closely packed, they often appear angularly delimited due to mutual pressure.

The Central Europe to the treeline widespread Lecanora carpinea growing epiphytic on the bark of trees, especially in species with smooth or shallow fissured bark (about fruit trees, maples and ash trees). The species also tolerates increased exposure to air pollutants .
