Biography and work

Ledia Dushi was best known for her poetry , written in Gian dialect , which she had published in the second half of the 1990s . She was heavily criticized for this dialect poetry; she was accused - one of the first to publish in the Shkodra dialect - of wanting to divide the country. She justified her choice of gazing, saying that it was the language she had grown up with. Dushi is considered to be one of the most notable female poets in Albania of the 1990s. She is also an essayist and writes prose .

"In poetry, Dushi is about feelings, visions, not individual words, and she rejects poetry as a play on words."
