Leech is a Swiss post-rock band that was founded in 1995 in Oftringen , Aargau .
history
The album Instarmental , which was recorded on two sound tracks, was released in 1996 just one year after it was founded. Both this album and the album Soundtrack to an Individual Emotion Picture Mindmovie that followed in 1998 were followed by numerous concerts in Switzerland and neighboring countries. After another two years, the third studio work Zerotonine Days appeared , on which for the first time and as an exception a piece with singing can be found.
In the following two years Leech found himself in an extensive phase of experimentation and several projects with guest musicians from different musical directions arose. These projects were presented live, but not recorded on sound carriers. From this phase the three founding members of the band developed in different directions and decided to put the project on hold for a while. In the summer of 2006, the Leech project was continued again. Leech picked up where they left off before the five-year break and devoted themselves entirely to experimental instrumental music. During this time Tobias Schläfli (synthesizer) also joined the band as a permanent member.
