Nurmi, who starts for the Lempäälän Kisa, appeared internationally for the first time in February 2011 at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in Liberec . There she finished 22nd place over 7.5 km classic, 21st place in the sprint and 18th place over 5 km freestyle. The following year she came in 18th place over 5 km classic and ninth place in sprint at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck . She ran her first World Cup race in March 2014 in Lahti , which she finished in 74th place in the sprint. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season she took her first World Cup points in Ruka with 25th place in the sprint. Since 2015 she has mainly started in the Scandinavian Cup . Fourth place in the sprint in Östersund in January 2016 was her best result so far. At the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she finished 66th. In April 2018 she became the Finnish sprint champion in Taivalvaara .
