Legendary blues band
The Legendary Blues Band was founded in 1980 in Chicago by former members of the band of Muddy Waters . The original line-up consisted of Calvin "Fuzz" Jones (vocals, bass, violin), Willie "Big Eyes" Smith (drums), Pinetop Perkins (piano 1980-85) and Jerry Portnoy (harmonica 1980-86).
Over time, others also played in the band, including Louis Myers (guitar 1981), Smokey Smothers (guitar 1989), Billy Flynn (guitar 1989), Mark Koenig (harmonica 1989) and Tony O (guitar 1990).
The band won a series of Grammys and recorded with a number of greats in the blues, including Buddy Guy and Junior Wells . They toured with Bob Dylan , the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton , and appeared with John Lee Hooker in The Blues Brothers .
