Lehnepark
The Lehnepark is located in the Berlin district of Tempelhof between Parkstrasse and Tempelhofer Damm . It is named after the landowner Wilhelm Lehne (1836–1910), who died in Tempelhof.
Design
It is a relatively small park, separated from the much larger Old Park by a path . In the middle there is a small pond, the Wilhelmsteich . Like the Klarensee in the neighboring Alten Park, it emerged from a dead ice hole .
The park is popular with runners because it offers extensive terrain in conjunction with the Alten Park, Franckepark and Bose Park .
Others
The Tempelhof village church borders the park . Originally a settlement of the Knights Templar stood here , but it was destroyed in World War II. The cemetery is still preserved - a memorial stone was erected there for the 47 Berlin and Brandenburg victims of the tsunami of December 26, 2004 in the Pacific .
