history

The place was first mentioned in 1070 in the collection of documents from the Freising Cathedral Monastery, where a rumor from Liwensdorf is mentioned as a witness. The name is derived from Liutpald (Luitpold). The closed Hofmark Leibersdorf was owned by the Leibersdorfer in the 15th century and from 1523 to 1767 by the barons of Zeller, who also appear in the Volkenschwander coat of arms. Then the property came to Hofrat von Käppler, then to the Counts of Buttler. A second class patrimonial court emerged from the Hofmark .

The Leibersdorf community emerged from the tax district of the same name and initially belonged to the Moosburg district court . Districts were Berg, Böham, Haag, Heidersberg, Herrenau, Kreppen, Kreuzstauden, Leibersdorf and Wieden. Later the community belonged to the Mainburg District Office and the Mainburg District . It was incorporated into the municipality of Volkenschwand on January 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
